She announced that Patricia Sherwin has been selected as Kearny's Woman of the Year, with a resolution to be presented at an upcoming event on March 27 in Jersey City.

The meeting also addressed a recent groundbreaking ceremony funded by a $1.3 million Federal Community Development Block Grant. This funding will support improvements in a much-needed area that includes the Washington School and services for senior residents.

Additionally, the council provided updates on health initiatives, including the return of a mobile mammogram screening unit scheduled for April 25. This service is available to women aged 40 and older who have not had a mammogram in over a year.

Lastly, the council discussed the implementation of a new park mobile system, with an estimated rollout timeframe of 8 to 12 weeks. The meeting underscored the council's commitment to community engagement and public health initiatives, as well as ongoing improvements in local infrastructure.
