They outlined specific needs, including a new concert snare drum and bass clarinet for the middle school, as well as a new drum line for the high school, which is estimated to cost around $11,000. In addition to the band program updates, the meeting celebrated the achievements of students in various competitions. Sycamore High School students excelled in the annual Technology Student Association competition, securing third place in animatronics. The FFA chapter also received accolades at the state convention, earning a Superior Chapter Award and a Gold PLOW Award for their literacy initiatives.
Furthermore, students from the HOSA program showcased their skills at the state competition, with two students qualifying for the international competition in Nashville later this year.
