DCA leaders visit Suddath site ahead of California Moving and Storage Association convention

The BEARHFTI Advisory Council convened on March 29, 2018, to discuss various aspects of the moving industry in California, particularly in light of the upcoming jurisdictional changes set to take effect on July 1. The meeting featured insights from a recent visit to Suddath, a prominent global moving company located in the Anaheim area.

During the meeting, a council member shared their experience at Suddath's facility, highlighting the efficiency and organization of the moving process. The visit provided valuable insights into the logistics involved, from initial consumer contact to the execution of the move. The council expressed interest in exploring operations at smaller moving companies to gain a comprehensive understanding of the industry and how the upcoming regulatory changes might impact their operations.

Additionally, the council announced that members, including Director Grafillo from the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), will be speaking at the California Moving and Storage Association's centennial convention in Sacramento in April. This event will serve as an opportunity to engage with industry stakeholders before the DCA assumes jurisdiction over the moving industry.
