Senate honors legacy of attorneys Ron Schwartz and Heo Woon Yoo

Senator Choi led the memorials, first paying tribute to Ron Schwartz, a respected personal injury attorney from Orange County. Schwartz, known for his unwavering commitment to justice and his clients, was celebrated not only for his legal prowess but also for his vibrant spirit. He was the founder of Muldoon’s Irish Pub in Newport Beach, a beloved establishment that served as a gathering place for community events. Schwartz’s dedication extended to the arts, where he served as president of the Laguna Playhouse, championing local theater. He is survived by his wife, Cindy, and three daughters, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and community service.

Following Schwartz’s tribute, Senator Choi honored Hae Hoon Yu, a cherished member of the community who passed away unexpectedly at the age of 53. Yu, originally from South Korea, was a talented videographer and a dedicated mentor in the Boy Scouts. His creative journey began in Korea, where he worked in advertising before moving to the United States to pursue his passion for storytelling. Yu was also deeply involved in the democratic process, contributing to local campaigns with his time and talent. He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and dedication, as well as a proud family, including his son Jaden, who recently received acceptance to Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music.

As the session concluded, senators expressed their condolences and gratitude for the lives of Schwartz and Yu, reflecting on the profound impact both men had on their communities. The Senate adjourned in their memory, a testament to the enduring legacies of those who serve with passion and purpose.
