Co-Chair Gomberg approves key performance measures for House Bill 5036

The Joint Committee on Ways and Means Subcommittee on Transportation and Economic Development convened on May 5, 2025, to discuss key performance measures and budget recommendations for the upcoming fiscal year.

During the meeting, the Legislative Fiscal Office (LFO) presented its recommendations for key performance measures, which included a significant change to the terminology used in one of the metrics. The term "contested" was removed from the measure regarding case actions resolved through settlement. This adjustment was approved without opposition.

The LFO also proposed a budget of $15,880,214 for the real estate agency for the 2025-2027 period, which was included in the dash 1 amendment to House Bill 5036. The subcommittee unanimously adopted this amendment, paving the way for further discussion.

Finally, the LFO recommended that House Bill 5036, as amended, be forwarded to the full Ways and Means Committee for consideration. The motion to move the bill was also approved without any objections.
