Washington Township promotes Adam Smith to assistant fire chief

Dublin City Council members welcomed a significant leadership change in the Washington Township Fire Department during their meeting on May 5, 2025. Fire Chief John Donahue introduced Assistant Chief Adam Smith, who has been promoted following the retirement of Chief O'Connell.

Smith, a seasoned firefighter with 27 years of service, has held various roles within the department, including battalion chief. His promotion was the result of a competitive selection process that considered both internal and external candidates, ultimately recognizing Smith as the best fit for the position.
