Morgan Creek Park sees explosive growth as projects near completion

Linn County's park system is gearing up for a busy season, with several key projects underway that promise to enhance community access and recreational opportunities. During the Linn County Board of Supervisors meeting on April 22, 2025, updates highlighted significant developments across various parks, particularly at Morgan Creek and Penneken Ridge.

The Morgan Creek Trail remains on schedule for a late start date of June 30, while the campground expansion at Penneken Ridge Park is nearing completion. Officials announced that playground installation is set for early May, with reservations expected to open around June 15. This expansion aims to accommodate growing visitor numbers, as recent attendance has tripled since new developments began.

Additionally, the construction of the Morgan Creek Lodge is progressing, with initial groundwork starting soon.
