Mayor Wilson inaugurates Roswell Police Department's new public safety center

Mayor Kurt Wilson announced a significant milestone for Roswell, Georgia, as the Roswell Police Department officially moved into its new Public Safety Headquarters at the Roswell Summit Building on April 30, 2025. This relocation marks the first roll call for the Uniphore Police Division in the newly renovated facility, which aims to enhance public safety in the area.

The mayor emphasized the importance of this move, stating that the new headquarters is strategically located in the heart of the city, where the majority of criminal activity occurs. "We put our Public Safety Building right smack in the middle where we get the most calls," Wilson explained, highlighting the decision to position the police and fire services centrally for better response times.

The city purchased the building for $8 million last year and is currently undergoing renovations to accommodate both police and fire departments. Wilson noted that the renovations will continue throughout the year as more personnel move into the facility.

This new headquarters is expected to bolster the capabilities of the Roswell Police Department, which has been expanding to meet the needs of the growing community. The mayor expressed excitement about the future, stating, "It's the new way the Roswell Police Department is going to take on what criminal activity we have in the city."

As the police settle into their new home, the city anticipates improved safety and quicker response times for residents.
