The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) is gearing up for the inaugural Log Jam Music Festival, set to take place on June 28, 2025, in downtown Escanaba. The City Council has approved the DDA's request to close Ludington Street from Tenth to Fourteenth Street, along with adjacent alleys, to accommodate the event. This closure may extend to Ninth Street if necessary, while Tenth Street will remain open.
Event organizer Mister Warple highlighted the festival's focus on celebrating the timber industry, featuring a timber show by local resident Bruce Blondie and various lumberjack competitions led by the Delta Conservation District forester. The festival will also showcase ten musical acts, including popular local bands and a special performance by the Pesky Kids, a band with personal ties to Warple.
