Worcester County holds public hearing on Crepe Myrtle Court residential community plan

A public hearing held on May 6, 2025, by the Worcester County Commissioners focused on the proposed establishment of a residential planned community at Crepe Myrtle Court, located along Maryland Route 707, also known as Old Bridge Road. The development, which aims to enhance housing options in the West Ocean City area, is set to include 24 duplexes and one single-family dwelling on approximately 4.82 acres.

Zoning Administrator Kristen Tremblay presented the planning commission's findings, highlighting that the project aligns with the county's comprehensive plan, which encourages infill development and a diverse range of housing types. The proposed density of 5.18 units per acre falls within the recommended limits for the area, which allows for up to eight units per acre.

The planning commission's review confirmed that the project would not adversely impact local traffic or transportation patterns, and there were no concerns raised by the water and wastewater division regarding public utilities.
