Santa Rosa celebrates 30th anniversary of Light at Julliard with community art events

The City of Santa Rosa's Art in Public Places Committee convened on May 5, 2025, to discuss various initiatives aimed at enhancing community engagement through the arts. The meeting highlighted several upcoming events and opportunities for local artists and residents.

One of the key announcements was the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the Light at Julliard event, scheduled to take place every Sunday from July 27 through August 31. The meeting also featured updates on current art exhibits at the Findlay Center, including works by artists from Becoming Independent and a quilting exhibit, both of which will be on display until mid-June. The committee noted the success of social media promotions for local art events, with significant engagement reported on platforms like Facebook and Instagram.

In other announcements, the committee discussed the upcoming Bike and Block Party, set for May 18, which will include bike repair clinics, arts and crafts, and live music. The event aims to promote alternative transportation and community involvement.
