Topeka West honors Jordan Toombs as Senior of the Month for outstanding leadership

Topeka West High School celebrated the achievements of senior Jordan Toombs during the Board of Education meeting on May 7, 2025. Recognized for her outstanding leadership and involvement in various school activities, Jordan is a role model for her peers and underclassmen alike.

Jordan, who ranks in the top 10% of her class, has made significant contributions to the school community. She is actively involved in theater, serves on the news broadcast team, and participates in the TCALC web and digital design pathway. Additionally, she has taken on leadership roles as a LINC crew member and has volunteered her skills in video and sound for her church. Her dedication extends to athletics, where she competes in track events such as javelin and discus.

The board highlighted Jordan's recent achievement of winning the Edgerly Franklin Leadership Scholarship at Kansas State University, a prestigious award given to only five students annually. This scholarship will support her plans to major in business marketing after graduation.

During the meeting, Jordan expressed gratitude for the support of her family, who were present to celebrate her accomplishments. She emphasized the importance of building relationships and learning from those around her, noting that her experiences with freshmen have taught her valuable lessons in leadership and character.
