The City of Gonzales is gearing up for an exciting summer filled with recreational activities and programs aimed at engaging the community's youth and families. One of the highlights discussed was the Gonzales Youth Council, which is currently accepting applications for students interested in leadership opportunities. Subscribe for Free Summer camp registrations will open on May 16, with the camp set to kick off on June 16 and run for seven weeks until August 1. This program is designed to provide children with a safe and engaging environment during the summer months. The city also plans to continue its after-school Kid Power program, which will reopen on August 11, ensuring ongoing support for students throughout the school year.
In terms of sports, Gonzales will introduce youth flag football and an adult co-ed softball league this summer. Following the summer programs, the city will transition into its fall sports offerings, including a Youth Soccer League starting in September and an Adult Co-ed Volleyball League in November.
