Hoffman Estates celebrates Advocate Outpatient Center opening and Arbor Day festivities

Under the bright lights of Hoffman Estates City Hall, community leaders gathered for the May edition of The Citizen, where a series of significant events unfolded, marking a vibrant month for the village. The meeting kicked off with the much-anticipated ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Advocate Outpatient Clinic, a new facility located at 4847 Hoffman Boulevard. This addition promises to enhance healthcare access for residents, offering a range of services including primary care, imaging, and various specialties. Mayor Bill McLeod expressed his enthusiasm, inviting the community to explore the new center, which he described as a "tremendous facility" for the West Side of Hoffman Estates.

The celebration continued with the village's annual Arbor Day event, a cherished tradition now in its 35th year. Mayor McLeod addressed a group of third graders from Whitley School, emphasizing the importance of trees in the community. He proclaimed April 25, 2025, as Arbor Day in Hoffman Estates, urging residents to plant trees and protect local woodlands. The mayor highlighted the environmental benefits of trees, from reducing soil erosion to enhancing property values, and encouraged the young attendees to take part in planting saplings, fostering a sense of stewardship for future generations.

In addition to these community-focused events, the meeting also noted the ongoing construction of Fire Station 21, where concrete ceilings are being installed, signaling progress in enhancing local emergency services. The session concluded with a formal swearing-in ceremony for Mayor McLeod, Village Clerk Patty Richter, and Trustees Karen Mills, Karen Arnett, and Patrick Kinane, reaffirming their commitment to serving the community.
