Jackson Public Schools hosts professional development day for 3000 educators

In a vibrant display of collaboration and innovation, approximately 3,000 educators from the Jackson Public School District gathered for a full day of professional development on May 6, 2025. With 93 presenters leading 109 different content sessions, the event aimed to enhance teaching strategies and improve student outcomes across the district.

The day was marked by a focus on critical areas such as writing assessments and ACT review strategies. Educators engaged in collaborative planning and analyzed student work, emphasizing the importance of adapting teaching methods based on new data. "These are important days where our teachers are really digging in on innovative strategies," one district leader noted, highlighting the necessity of continuous professional growth to meet the evolving needs of students.
