Berkley City Council has announced several community-focused initiatives during its meeting on May 5, 2025, aimed at enhancing local engagement and support for residents.
One of the standout programs is the Dogman Reading Challenge, organized by the Parks and Recreation Department in collaboration with the public library. Participants are encouraged to read 13 Dogman books, with a parent’s signature required on a reading log to receive a prize ticket. This ticket can be redeemed at a special screening of "Dog Man" on June 13 at Bacon Park, promoting literacy and community involvement among families.
