Brunswick County outlines $110M capital projects including EMS bases and community parks

Brunswick County officials are gearing up for significant infrastructure developments, with a focus on long-term planning and community needs. During the recent Board of Commissioners meeting on May 5, 2025, discussions highlighted the impending closure of the county landfill, projected to incur major expenses in the next fiscal year. However, officials expressed confidence in their financial preparedness, having set aside funds for decades to manage this transition.

Among the key projects on the horizon is the expansion of a central warehouse, which may involve leasing additional space to ensure strategic service delivery. The board also discussed upcoming recreational developments, including design plans for Lockwood Folly and Northwest District Park, with construction slated for 2028 and 2030, respectively.
