Town Council reviews rezoning proposal for Castle Oaks Covenant Church development

The Castle Rock Planning Commission convened on April 24, 2025, to address several key agenda items, beginning with the approval of minutes from the previous meeting held on December 12, 2024. The minutes were accepted unanimously by a vote of 7-0.

The adjacent Quality Inn property is zoned for business and commercial use (B), allowing mixed-use development with multifamily housing also subject to special review. The proposed PDP aims to simplify zoning regulations by making places of worship, multifamily housing, and office uses permitted by right.

During the meeting, the commission confirmed that the application had been properly noticed in accordance with municipal code requirements. Public comments were invited, with speakers limited to four minutes each. The commission also accepted written comments submitted prior to the meeting for inclusion in the public record.

As the discussion progressed, the commission members expressed no conflicts of interest regarding the rezoning proposal, allowing the meeting to move forward smoothly.
