Meyer, a Tampa native with a strong background in soccer, previously served as a facility manager for Parks and Recreation in St. Johns County. There, he played a pivotal role in enhancing the tourism sector, particularly in sports tourism, where he successfully expanded grant programs from 12 to 31 in just a few years. This growth resulted in over $320,000 distributed to various sports organizations, including athletics, soccer, and lacrosse.
During his introduction, Meyer shared his familiarity with Clay County, noting personal connections and experiences that have shaped his understanding of the community. He highlighted his enthusiasm for the opportunity to further develop tourism in the area, particularly through sports-related events.
