DeKalb County approves $46M water main replacement and Oracle Cloud Services funding

The DeKalb County Board of Commissioners held a regular meeting on April 3, 2025, addressing several key contract changes and approvals aimed at enhancing county services.

One of the most significant items discussed was the approval of Change Order Number 7 for the Oracle Cloud Services contract, which supports the county's human capital management system. The board approved an increase in contract funds not to exceed $3,715,075.02, following recommendations from the Operations Committee and an audit review.

Another important item was Change Order Number 2 for the poured-in-place installation services contract, which is essential for maintaining playgrounds across the DeKalb County Park System. The meeting also included a critical emergency contract for the replacement of water mains along Peachtree Industrial Boulevard. This project, which involves the installation of approximately 21,000 linear feet of ductile iron pipe, is crucial for delivering water to a third of the county, including vital facilities like Emory Hospital and the CDC. The board approved this emergency purchase, not to exceed $46,435,928, after it successfully passed through the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee and audit.
