As disasters can strike unexpectedly, leaders emphasized the importance of creating a disaster kit specifically for pets.

Residents are encouraged to gather essential documents, such as vaccination records and care instructions, and store them in a large Ziploc bag alongside a photo of themselves with their pet. A well-stocked disaster kit should also include a seven-day supply of food, bowls, a travel crate, and a favorite toy to help comfort pets during stressful times.
