District 11 establishes teacher academy partnership with Pikes Peak State College

Under the bright lights of the Colorado Springs School District No. 11 boardroom, excitement filled the air as students gathered to celebrate their remarkable achievements. Young scientists from Edison and Scott Elementary Schools proudly shared their projects, with fourth grader Katie Wetter impressing the audience with her experiment on fabric dyeing using Skittles. Fifth grader Annika Cruzett also captivated attendees with her balloon experiment, demonstrating the impact of color on buoyancy. Notably, Natalie Murrow earned first place in environmental engineering and will represent Colorado at the prestigious Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. The spotlight then shifted to the arts, with the William J. Palmer High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble receiving accolades for their first-ever state championship.
