In the heart of Middle Country, the atmosphere buzzed with pride and celebration as the Board of Education gathered for its regular meeting on May 7, 2025. The highlight of the evening was the recognition of two outstanding students, Ramesha Rydia from Dawnwood Middle School and Madison La Casaglia from Selden Middle School, both honored as Students of the Month for May.
Seventh grader Ramesha Rydia, described by her science teacher as "kind, inquisitive, and self-motivated," has made a remarkable impression on her educators. With an impressive average of 99.5 for her seventh-grade year, including a perfect score of 100 in the third quarter, Ramesha exemplifies academic excellence. Her dedication extends beyond the classroom; she recently represented her school at the Stony Brook Offshore Wind Energy Symposium, showcasing her research on offshore wind. Outside of academics, Ramesha enjoys reading, drawing, and participating in the art club, while also volunteering at the Middle Country Library's MUT Club, where she learns about animals.
