Students showcase innovative projects at Lowell High School's special presentation

The Tri-Creek School Corporation Board of School Trustees held a meeting on May 8, 2025, focusing on student achievements, personnel changes, and school improvement initiatives. The meeting highlighted the creative projects undertaken by students in the machining program, showcasing their problem-solving skills and hands-on learning experiences.

During the meeting, students presented various projects, including custom bicycle pedals and a multi-use hammer, demonstrating their ability to design and execute complex tasks using advanced machinery. One student, Seamus, shared his experience creating personalized coasters and bicycle pedals, emphasizing the importance of creativity and practical skills in education. The projects not only reflect the students' technical abilities but also their engagement with real-world applications of their learning.

In addition to student presentations, the board recognized Dr. Andy Anderson for completing his doctorate while managing the school system and overseeing a significant capital project. The meeting also included the approval of contracts for new principals at Lowell High School and Oak Hill Elementary School. Josh Gehringer, with 17 years of experience in education, was appointed as the principal of Lowell High School, while Patty Sparks, also with 17 years of experience, will lead Oak Hill Elementary.

The board approved several operational items, including a lease agreement for Popcorner Little Scholars and bids for improvements at Lowell High School. The meeting concluded with a commitment to continue fostering student creativity and enhancing educational opportunities within the district.
