Significant development is underway in Waupaca, with the River North Cottages project achieving impressive occupancy rates ahead of schedule. Marissa Downs, the project lead, reported that the bridal-themed cottages are fully completed and already seeing residents, highlighting a strong demand for this type of housing in the area.
The city is also gearing up for further residential growth, with plans for six single-family homes in the RiverNorth Tycor development. Infrastructure work, including curb, gutter, and sidewalks, is set to begin soon, following the recent installation of gas lines. Additionally, four new market-rate apartment buildings are in the pipeline, each containing 10 to 12 units, with construction already visible in the downtown area.
As for commercial development, the North Side of Highway 10 is shifting towards light industrial zoning, aligning with the city's future land use plans. This change is expected to attract more interest from businesses like Alliance Industries, which is already making strides in the area.
With a projected completion date for the downtown apartment building set for July, Waupaca is poised for a vibrant summer of growth and development, reflecting the community's evolving needs and aspirations.
