Crafton community garden party to feature VIP hour and family-friendly activities

Crafton Borough is gearing up for a vibrant celebration as it marks the 10th anniversary of its community garden with a festive garden party on May 17. The event kicks off with a VIP cocktail hour from noon to 1 PM, where attendees aged 21 and over can enjoy hors d'oeuvres and sangria for $25 per ticket, or $20 for seniors. Following the cocktail hour, from 1 to 4 PM, the festivities open up to all ages at no cost, featuring garden tours, cooking demonstrations, and family-friendly activities.

"This is a great opportunity to see the amazing work our community garden has accomplished," said a council member, encouraging residents to participate. The garden party is just one of several upcoming events, including a Fourth of July celebration, a fall fest in September, and a holiday house tour in December.

In addition to the garden festivities, the council discussed ongoing recruitment for local commissions, highlighting an open alternate seat on the Civil Service Commission and upcoming positions on the Zoning Hearing Board. Residents interested in serving are encouraged to apply through the borough's website.

The next council meeting is scheduled for May 22, where further details about community events will be shared. Residents are also reminded that Election Day is approaching on May 20, with polling locations potentially changing, urging voters to verify their sites ahead of time.
