Rockwall County Commissioners schedule follow-up meeting for unresolved agenda items

The Rockwall County Commissioners Court held a special meeting on May 12, 2025, at the Historic Courthouse, focusing on key county matters. The meeting commenced with an invocation led by Commissioner Galana, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance led by Commissioner Makalik.

The first agenda item was a public forum, allowing citizens to address the court on any county-related issues. However, no members of the public chose to speak during this time.

The court then moved to agenda item two, which involved discussing an order regarding apportionment costs related to River Rock Trails and a Doctor Horton appeal dated March 4, 2025. To address this matter, the court entered into executive session, as permitted under Texas government code, to discuss legal issues and seek advice from attorneys.

After reconvening into open session at 10:08 AM, the court reported that no action was taken during the executive session. The meeting proceeded to agenda item five, which was postponed until the following day.

Commissioner Leckt proposed a motion to recess the meeting and reconvene at 8 AM on May 13, 2025, at the same location to continue discussing the agenda items. The motion received a second from Commissioner Stacy and was unanimously approved with a vote of 5 to 0.

The meeting concluded with plans to reconvene the next morning, ensuring that the court would continue its discussions on the pending matters.
