McKinney ISD announces new principals for Slaughter, McClure and Wilmoth Elementary

Three new principals were announced at the McKinney ISD School Board meeting on May 12, 2025, marking a significant leadership transition within the district.

Cindy Bice, with over 20 years of experience, was recognized for her dedication to Slaughter Elementary, where she has served in various roles including teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Her commitment to the Slaughter community is expected to foster a continued culture of excellence at the school.

Kristin Ellis, who has spent 27 of her 30 years in education within McKinney ISD, is moving to McClure Elementary. Ellis has a rich background in leadership, having served as principal at Wilmoth Elementary and earning accolades such as the TEPSA Region 10 Assistant Principal of the Year. Her extensive experience is anticipated to benefit the students and staff at McClure.

Grace Roberts was introduced as the new principal of Wilmoth Elementary. With a strong educational background and a history of leadership roles within McKinney ISD, including assistant principal at alternative campuses, Roberts is poised to uphold the school's tradition of excellence.

The meeting also included a public comment section, where community members were invited to share their thoughts on various agenda and non-agenda items. This engagement reflects the district's commitment to transparency and community involvement in educational matters.
