Lucy O'Brien, a standout from Mount Hope High School, was honored for her prestigious National Merit Scholarship award, a distinction earned by less than 1% of applicants. Her hard work and dedication have set her apart, and she will continue her academic journey at Yale University this fall.
In addition to O'Brien's accolades, the meeting recognized the school's athletic achievements, including the girls gymnastics team, represented by state champion Cara Piscisil. The boys swim team also made waves this season, with several members, including Ben Coles and Colin Gagner, being celebrated for their outstanding performances. The boys swim team clinched the state championship, while the girls team finished as state runners-up.
