Mayor Kandel thanks city employees for community service at Lafayette council meeting

Following this, Lisa Disbrow from Moms for Liberty of Contra Costa County raised concerns regarding the health education being provided to minors in local schools. She expressed her belief that students were being taught inaccurate information about anatomy and physiology. Disbrow requested the council consider hosting a town hall meeting to discuss these controversial issues openly, emphasizing the need for community dialogue.

The council members reminded Disbrow to keep her comments relevant to the agenda, particularly regarding upcoming protests related to the topics she mentioned. They encouraged her to submit her request for a town hall discussion formally.

In addition to public comments, City Manager updates included an announcement about an upcoming workshop on the Downtown Lafayette parking management study, scheduled for May 21. Residents are invited to participate in person or through an online survey to share their parking experiences and feedback.
