Las Cruces Tourism Wins Eight Awards at New Mexico Hospitality Association Ceremony

The Las Cruces City Council Work Session on May 12, 2025, highlighted significant achievements in local tourism and community engagement. Rochelle, the executive director of Visit Las Cruces, presented updates on recent accolades received by the organization and its partners. Notably, Las Cruces was recognized as a finalist in 15 categories at the New Mexico Hospitality Association awards, winning eight, including Best Broadcast Campaign for the "Real New Mexico" initiative and Best New Experience for the Mira Las Cruces Fest.

Additionally, Russ Smith was honored as the Tourism Professional of the Year, marking a significant recognition for his contributions to the local tourism sector. Rochelle also announced her appointment by the governor to the semi-quincentennial commission, which will focus on promoting events for the 250th anniversary of the United States, ensuring that Southern New Mexico and Las Cruces are well represented.
