Duncanville ISD discusses teacher pay scale and budget adjustments for 2024-2025

The Duncanville Independent School District (DISD) is navigating a challenging budget landscape as it prepares for the 2025-2026 fiscal year. During a recent budget workshop held on April 28, 2025, district officials discussed the financial outlook, which includes a projected deficit of approximately $19 million. However, with anticipated savings from staff vacancies and other reductions, this figure could improve to around $9.4 million.

A key focus of the meeting was the potential for a teacher pay increase, which could hover around 7%. This increase is contingent on the approval of detailed language supporting raises for tenured teachers. Despite the projected deficit, DISD officials expressed confidence in maintaining a healthy fund balance of over five months by the end of the fiscal year.
