Methuen High School celebrated a series of impressive achievements during the recent Methuen School Committee meeting on May 12, 2025. Among the highlights was the recognition of the girls' hockey team, which made a remarkable run to the final four in the Division 1 state tournament, finishing the season with a record of 19 wins, 2 losses, and 3 ties. Their performance marked the second-best record in the program's history, showcasing their resilience and teamwork throughout the season.
The team, known for its strong defense and elite goaltending, won ten games by just one goal, demonstrating their competitive spirit. Goalie Lydia Barnes and teammate MJ Patishi received accolades as all-scholastics from Boston papers, while Coach Dave O'Hearn was honored as the Eagle Tribune and Boston Globe Division 1 Coach of the Year. The team’s success was celebrated not only for their athletic prowess but also for their community engagement, including a memorable teacher appreciation game.

The multicultural fair held on April 17 showcased the diverse cultures represented at Methuen High School, with volunteers from 19 different backgrounds sharing their traditions through music, art, and history. Furthermore, members of the National Honor Society participated in a community cleanup, enhancing the local environment and promoting civic responsibility.
The Methuen DECA chapter also made its mark at the International Career Development Conference in Orlando, where students presented comprehensive business solutions and growth plans, competing against thousands of peers from around the globe.
As the school year progresses, students are currently engaged in Advanced Placement exams, with hopes of earning college credits. The upcoming senior prom on May 22 at the Atkinson Country Club promises to be another highlight for the students.
