GNTC Foundation awards $37,500 in scholarships to local high school students

In a significant move to support local education, the GNTC Foundation announced a scholarship initiative during a recent government meeting in Georgia. Amy Jackson, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Chief Communications Officer, revealed that the foundation will award scholarships totaling $37,500 to outstanding students from each of the 38 high schools and college career academies within Georgia Northwestern Technical College's nine-county service area.

This initiative aims to give back to the community by providing financial assistance to students pursuing higher education. Once enrolled at GNTC, these students will also have the opportunity to apply for additional awards, enhancing their educational prospects. Last year, the foundation awarded $68,000 in scholarships and financial aid, demonstrating its commitment to supporting local students.

In a highlight of the ceremony, Caitlin Bradford was recognized as the scholarship winner from the Year to Career Academy, showcasing the foundation's dedication to celebrating student achievements.

Additionally, Marissa Rower, the Chief Encouraging Officer, noted that 169 students were honored for earning college credits and industry credentials, equipping them for future educational endeavors or immediate entry into the workforce. This emphasis on practical skills and education underscores the community's investment in its youth and their future success.

The GNTC Foundation's scholarship program not only provides financial support but also fosters a pathway for students to thrive in their academic and professional journeys.
