Carbondale honors Jeffrey W. Dougherty for 32 years of dedicated public service

Jeffrey W. Dougherty, a dedicated public servant, officially retired from his role as a city council member on May 13, 2025, after eight years of service. His tenure in public service spans over 32 years, beginning as an intern in the community development department in 1976 and culminating in his role as city manager until 2008.

During the recent Carbondale City Council meeting, a resolution was passed to commend Dougherty for his outstanding contributions to the city. The council recognized his integrity, dedication, and enthusiasm, highlighting his significant impact on the community. The resolution stated, “Jeffrey W.
