Carbondale City Council welcomes new members and addresses community concerns

The Carbondale City Council convened on May 13, 2025, to discuss various community issues and initiatives. The meeting began with a moment of gratitude, followed by council comments and general announcements.

Council member Miss Gilman expressed optimism for the new council, emphasizing the potential for positive change in Carbondale's political landscape. She assured that the council would explore options regarding the VO scooters, as representatives from the company have reached out to council members for discussions.

Addressing infrastructure concerns, Gilman noted the need for dry weather to effectively patch potholes and encouraged residents to report issues using the SeeClickFix app, which allows citizens to alert city staff about infrastructure deficits.

Roberts mentioned her discussions with a representative from VEO regarding accessibility issues related to sidewalks, affirming that these concerns are a priority for the council.
