Putnam Park construction resumes with Saturday work and paving maintenance starts soon

Cotati City Council has announced significant progress on several community projects during their recent meeting on May 13, 2025. Notably, construction at Putnam Park is back in full swing, with crews working on Saturdays to expedite the project and keep it on schedule.

In addition to the park developments, residents can expect paving maintenance to commence as early as tomorrow, which will include slurry sealing and road repairs throughout the city. These efforts aim to enhance local infrastructure and improve overall road safety.

The council is also preparing to address several important items in upcoming meetings. A code cleanup ordinance is on the agenda, along with discussions regarding Full Haven Estates, a subdivision on Old Redwood Highway that is set to finalize its public improvement and affordable housing agreements soon. Furthermore, the planning commission will review the 120 East Catawdy project this summer, which is anticipated to bring additional housing options to the area.

Another key initiative is the development of a transit-oriented community zoning ordinance, focusing on the area between the creek and the train station along East Cotati. This zoning change is expected to facilitate better access to public transportation and promote sustainable development.

Additionally, Sunflower Park is set to go out to bid shortly, signaling further investment in community recreational spaces. The city is also collaborating with Runner Park to issue a request for proposals for consultant contracts related to Enhanced Infrastructure Financing Districts (EIFDs), which could provide new funding avenues for local projects.

In community engagement efforts, the city will participate in Bike to Work Day this Thursday, staffing an energizer station at the Gethadi Smart Station from 7:30 to 9:30 AM. Residents are also invited to a free ranch open day at Rondeau Fleddy Ranch this Friday from 3 to 5:30 PM, promoting local agriculture and community interaction.
