Harrisburg School District announces Dr. Chris Satel as new principal of John Harris High School

Harrisburg City School District has appointed Dr. Chris Satel as the new principal of John Harris High School, a decision that promises to bring strong leadership to the institution. Dr. Satel, who joined the district in July 2023 as an assistant principal, has already demonstrated his capabilities by stepping in as interim principal on two occasions.

With a solid educational background, Dr. Satel earned his undergraduate degree from Elizabethtown College, followed by a master’s degree from Wilkes University, and a doctorate in leadership from Millersville University. His extensive experience in education spans over two decades, including a decade spent teaching social studies and 12 years in various administrative roles at Middletown School District.

Beyond his academic credentials, Dr. Satel brings a wealth of extracurricular experience. He has served as an assistant athletic director and has a notable coaching history, having led varsity basketball teams for 15 years and accumulated a total of 20 years in coaching. His leadership skills were further honed during his time as a college basketball player, where he captained his team in his final year.
