The Lucy Beckham boys lacrosse team, under the guidance of Coach Jason Jeffries, secured their fourth consecutive state championship, finishing the season with an impressive 17-3 record. The team, led by captains Connor Simmons, Bear Hankins, Colton Bennett, and Grant Gallo, showcased their dominance in the playoffs, scoring 71 goals while allowing only 7 against them. The council members expressed their congratulations to the team for their remarkable success in the 2025 SCHSL Division 2 state lacrosse championship.

Recreation Director TJ highlighted the thriving therapeutic program at the Mount Pleasant Recreation Department, which has been running a unified basketball program for over 20 years. The basketball team, known as the MPRD Stingers, recently participated in a local tournament on Daniel Island, where they won gold medals. They also competed at the state level in Columbia, returning undefeated. The team members invited council members to join them for a kickball game this summer, further fostering community engagement.
The meeting concluded with a sense of pride in the local athletic programs and their contributions to the community, emphasizing the importance of support for youth sports and inclusive programs.
