Perry White approves development plan for TownePlace and Spring Hill Suites hotel

The Whitestown Town Council held a Plan Commission meeting on May 12, 2025, where significant developments were discussed, including the approval of a new dual-brand hotel and a proposed mixed-use multifamily project.

The meeting began with a presentation on the TownePlace Suites and Spring Hill Suites hotel, which will be located at the corner of Juniors Way and Perry White. The hotel, featuring 36 rooms, is set to be a five-story building, for which the board previously approved a height variance. The development plan was well-received, with minimal issues reported, primarily concerning drainage and the relocation of a traffic box. The staff recommended approval of the development plan, and after a brief public hearing with no comments from attendees, the commission unanimously approved the project.

Following the hotel discussion, the commission reviewed a proposed mixed-use multifamily project on 15.59 acres at 3689 South Main Street. This project includes plans for 17 buildings, comprising ten three-story apartment buildings, one amenity building, and six garage buildings. The proposal also includes a request to amend the Planned Unit Development (PUD) language to allow residential units above first-floor retail spaces at the southeast corner of Indigo Blue and Main Street. The project aims to enhance the area by integrating residential and commercial spaces.

The meeting concluded with the commission moving forward with the approval processes for both the hotel and the multifamily project, marking a significant step in the town's development efforts.
