Katy Independent School District certifies election results for James Cross and Lance Redmond

Katy Independent School District (KISD) trustees convened a special meeting on May 12, 2025, to officially canvass and certify the results of the recent Board of Trustees election held on May 3. The meeting, which began at 3:45 PM, confirmed a significant voter turnout, with over 18,000 participants, marking a 10% increase from the previous year.

Election Administrator Justin Graham presented the results, highlighting that James Cross secured Position 1 with 10,474 votes, representing over 58% of the total, while Lance Redmond won Position 2 with 12,598 votes, accounting for more than 75%. The election also featured a write-in candidate, Chris Fields, who received 573 votes.

The board unanimously approved the canvassing of the election results, with a 4-0 vote, followed by a 5-0 vote to certify the election outcomes. The meeting underscored the collaborative efforts of KISD and the City of Katy, which also experienced a record turnout of over 2,300 voters in their election.
