Leonardtown High School and Great Mills High School shone brightly at this year's SMCPS Student Recognition Ceremony, celebrating the achievements of local thespians. The spotlight was on the All State Thespians, with standout students including Ava Bridal from Leonardtown, Jacob Brock and Lizzie Gerhardt from Choctawcan, and several talented performers from Chopticon and Great Mills High Schools.
Notable awards were presented to students for their exceptional performances at the Maryland State Thespian Festival. Ava Brings from Leonardtown received a distinguished senior thespian award, while her classmates Ryan Weinstein and Jay Shaw were honored as outstanding performers in one-act plays. Choctawcan's Hayden Long earned both a distinguished senior thespian award and an international honor thespian award, showcasing the high caliber of talent in the region.

Subscribe for Free Great Mills High School also made a strong showing, with Alexandra Singleton receiving an International Honor Thespian Award and Kelsey Fandrick and Alexander Waters recognized as outstanding performers in one-act plays.
