Madtown Robotics team 1323 honored after winning 2025 FIRST world championship

Madera County celebrated a remarkable achievement during the Board of Supervisors meeting on May 13, 2025, as they honored the Madtown Robotics Team 1323 for winning the 2025 FIRST Robotics World Championship. This victory marks the team's third world title, showcasing their dedication and skill in science and technology.

The Madtown Robotics team, comprised of 18 students, demonstrated exceptional performance throughout the season, finishing with an impressive record of 53 wins and only 3 losses. Their journey to the championship began with victories at the Silicon Valley and Contra Costa regionals in March, which secured their place at the world championship held in Houston in April.

During the finals, the team faced challenges but displayed resilience by overcoming an initial loss in the Einstein finals to ultimately claim the championship alongside their alliance partners. In addition to their championship title, the team received several prestigious awards, including the Autonomous Award at Silicon Valley, the Quality Award at Contra Costa, and the Creativity Award at the world championship.

The recognition of Madtown Robotics Team 1323 not only highlights their achievements but also emphasizes the importance of fostering interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) among youth in the community.
