City Council approves grand opening event for Lumb Park and JC's

The City of Brainerd's Park Board has officially approved plans for a grand opening event at Lumb Park, celebrating recent construction projects aimed at enhancing community recreational spaces. The event is set to showcase improvements made to both Lumb Park and JC's Park, with plans to invite local organizations, including the Ski Loons, to participate in the festivities.

During the meeting, board members discussed the importance of timing for the grand opening, particularly regarding the readiness of the parks. Concerns were raised about the condition of the grass at JC's Park, which is still establishing roots. Board members agreed that while the grand opening could proceed, it would be best to ensure that the grass is protected from heavy foot traffic until it is fully mature.
