Copper Canyon Elementary celebrates strong community spirit and dedicated staff

Copper Canyon Elementary shines as a beacon of community and collaboration, according to its principal and staff during a recent discussion. Principal Terry Shonoff highlighted the school's collective commitment from staff, students, and parents to ensure a solid educational foundation for every child. "There's so many great things... but the greatest is the collective commitment," she stated, emphasizing the unified effort to support student learning.

Julie Bezanes, the school's secretary who has been with Copper Canyon for 21 years, echoed this sentiment, describing the school as a family where teachers support one another and foster a caring environment. "I see nothing but teachers come together... they care about each other," she shared, reflecting on the strong community spirit that has developed over the years.

Students also expressed their enthusiasm for the school. Fourth grader Maddox praised his teachers for being "nice and fun," particularly enjoying math because of the engaging teaching methods. First-grade teacher Ally Mickelson added to the positive atmosphere, noting the exceptional collaboration among staff to help students succeed from kindergarten through sixth grade.
