Students recognized for achievements in Youngstown State's regional math contest

The Canfield Local Board of Education meeting on May 14, 2025, celebrated student achievements and recognized outstanding performances in the regional Math Counts contest. The meeting highlighted the accomplishments of several students who participated in the competition at Youngstown State University.

Among the notable achievements, Joe Blumetti secured fourth place in the individual competition and led his team to victory, while also excelling in the math bowl and countdown round. Ethan Brown also performed admirably, finishing fifth individually and contributing to his team's success. Other participants, including Kevin Dangle, Michael Everett, and Evan Gerst, were acknowledged for their impressive placements and qualifications for state-level competition.

In addition to the Math Counts recognitions, the meeting featured a personal tribute to a student named Mason, who was celebrated for his love of social studies and aspirations to become a professional basketball player.
