In another significant discussion, the board recognized the accomplishments of the fifth-grade student leadership team at Lower Potts Grove Elementary School. Guidance counselor Susan Shannon announced that the team was one of only 47 schools nationwide to receive the prestigious American Student Council School of Excellence Award, and notably, the only school in Pennsylvania to achieve this honor. Shannon also acknowledged student leader Emily Pankow for her exceptional essay detailing her growth and learning as a leader, which contributed to the school's award application.
