Pleasant View discusses Forest Landing development and traffic safety measures

Farr West City Council is taking significant steps to address community concerns regarding traffic and development in the area. During their recent meeting on May 15, 2025, council members discussed ongoing developments, particularly the Forest Landing project, which is set to increase traffic on 2700 North.

The council has been in discussions with the developer and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) to manage the anticipated rise in traffic. The developer aims to close on properties by July 18 and begin construction by August 1, which will require the submission of subdivision and site plans.

In addition to development updates, council members expressed concerns about safety on local roads. One member highlighted the dangers posed by speeding vehicles on a dirt road frequented by pedestrians, particularly children. The council is working to raise awareness about traffic safety and plans to conduct a safety walk to engage the community.

The discussion also touched on the need for improved traffic signals and safety measures, such as activated crosswalk lights, to protect pedestrians. The council is actively pursuing funding and authorization for these enhancements from UDOT.
