Becky outlines public engagement for Lower Christmas Tree Hill evacuation project

The Town of Corte Madera held its second community workshop on May 14, 2025, to discuss the Lower Christmas Tree Hill Undergrounding and Evacuation Improvements project. The meeting focused on gathering public feedback and outlining the next steps in the project’s development.

During the workshop, project representatives presented a graphic illustrating the progress of the evacuation improvement project. They emphasized the importance of public engagement and outlined the timeline for future phases. As the project moves forward, the team plans to incorporate feedback from community members into the design process.

The next steps include presenting the preliminary design to the Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee (BPAC) and the town council later in 2025. This will provide additional opportunities for public input, particularly regarding bicycle and pedestrian considerations. Following this, a focus group meeting will be organized with key stakeholders, including representatives from PG&E, fire, and police departments, to further refine the project based on the feedback received.

The project team encouraged community members to participate in upcoming public meetings to voice their opinions and stay informed about the project's progress. The overall goal is to ensure that the design reflects the needs and concerns of the community while enhancing safety and accessibility in the area.
