Ogden High boys soccer team celebrates back-to-back state championship victory

The Ogden City School District Board of Education meeting on May 15, 2025, highlighted significant achievements in both athletics and academics, showcasing the district's commitment to fostering excellence among its students.

The meeting opened with a celebration of the Ogden High School boys' soccer team, which achieved an impressive feat by going undefeated this season and securing back-to-back state championships. Coach Scott expressed his pride in the team's accomplishments, noting their 18-0 record and the potential to tie the state record for consecutive wins. Several students received special awards for their projects, including Denny Wilder, who created an individual website on playwright Henrik Ibsen, and the duo of Juana Contreras and Karen Rodriguez, who produced a documentary on the treatment of Japanese Americans during World War II. Their achievements reflect the dedication of both students and teachers in promoting historical awareness and critical thinking.
